Memorabilia and keepsakes
Create your own mementos & keepsakes

With my offer “Designing mementos & keepsakes” I help you to creatively redesign things you have received or inherited from your deceased loved one.
When important people or pets die, they often leave behind objects and stories from their lives. These everyday objects, keepsakes or heirlooms are associated with memories. With special experiences, a certain time, the smile or voice of a person, the barking or purring of a four-legged friend.
They tell of shared history and good times. They give us strength and comfort. Such memories, and the mementos and keepsakes that accompany them, have a healing effect in times of grief.
How does it work to make a memory piece?
The process of creating a keepsake takes two days, 1-3 hours on the first day and 2-5 hours on the second day. No previous experience is required. It is also suitable for children and teenagers.
Day 1
- 1 – 3 hours
- you already bring souvenirs with you, or we think together about what might have emotional value for you
- either you already have an idea of what could be created from the souvenir or we develop the idea together
- I will advise you on the practical implementation
- We discuss the general conditions, such as whether there are children present.
Day 2
- 2 – 5 hours
- I will teach you how to use the materials and design techniques
- Together we will create a unique keepsake.
- You can design as much as you want, you decide. If you like, I can do some of the work for you.
What mementos can I use?
You can use anything that is meaningful to you. Personal items or everyday objects such as
- Tools
- Items of clothing
- Old glasses
- A toy
- A gardening glove
- Photographs
- Kitchen utensils or
- holiday souvenirs
But memories, smells, experiences, or even a song can also be the starting point for a memento.

Why it’s good to create a memento or collage of memories yourself
It puts us in touch with our feelings. Especially in times of grief, it can be comforting to have memories and experiences take on a form that you can touch. Something you can hold on to, but also put away. A memento or keepsake you create yourself is a unique gift from you to yourself. It doesn’t have to be aesthetically pleasing. You do not need any prior knowledge.
