My name is Jessica.
As a death doula and grief counselor, I advise and support people through processes of change, transition, and saying goodbye. My services are intentionally broad in scope and take a holistic approach.
It encompasses preparations for the final stage of life, the time between death and burial, and the grieving process. How we navigate life transitions and say goodbye influences how we integrate experiences surrounding dying, death, and grief into our lives. And that, in turn, shapes the path that lies ahead of us. I find it a deeply meaningful and enriching task to support people in navigating this processes in a way that feels right to them.
As a death doula, grief counselor, and funeral director, I take a process-oriented approach and focus on the individual needs of the people I support. I identify as queer – so supporting LGBTIQ* individuals is a matter close to my heart. I engage with people from diverse life experiences with an awareness of structural power dynamics. Openness, empathy, and a focus on the individual needs of the people I support are always at the center of my work.
My “toolkit” is filled with experiences, methods, and knowledge gained from encounters with people of all ages in various professional contexts, and through training and continuing education—as well as from my own experiences with life, death, and saying goodbye. I work in German and English in Berlin and online upon request.
